Running Tide, based in Maine, USA, is a unique kind of company. Over several years, their oceanographers have collected data from the open seas and combined it with aquacultural practices to devise a new way to capture carbon and sequester it for centuries.
By seeding kelp from lines strung on free-floating buoys that drift naturally on the currents, they soak up carbon dioxide from the surface of the water in the growing kelp, which sinks to the depths of the ocean floor once it reaches maturity.
A simple, cheap and natural way to overcome the climate crisis, but a technique that can be hard to communicate to investors and the carbon trading community that would make Running Tide a success.
We were asked to write full web content for Running Tide as they launched, working closely with their creative team and directors to communicate their unique offering clearly and convincingly.
